Iz Real

Just some respect for a Korean guy in the music game. So few of us in the light. Gotta get all the love we can.

Some Pimp gifts

Got someone that you don't know what to get 'em? I had this very dilemma. My roommate and his gf who I didn't know what to get them since I hardly ever seem them since we work opposite schedules. I was in a crazy state searching the net and fighting through the mall. Then it came on me like a light from above. A burning bush appeared to me and said let them drink wine. Well not so biblical but it was a great thought. It is not so impersonal like a gift card. I hope they don't see this before they open their gifts.

1. Malm Cellars pinot noir.
It has a sick Tiffany blue Label and a red wax top inspired by Makers mark. Very good and made in small quantities so a very desirable wine. If you can find it that is.

2. Veuve Clicquot NV Brut Rose with Ice Dress Bag.
Talk about sick. This bottle looks as pimp as you would thing. Gold and gold. So what it's not a bottle of Dom or Cristal but it rates at or close to them in the list at 92pts.

The black velvet and gold sating lined bag was just too pimp to pass up.

Expensive tastes or smart marketing

With the economy with the way it is, I am surprised to still the clothing companies that celebrities to market their expensive screen printed shirts that cost way too still around. I mean yes we all want what is in style. At what point do we say no? A few years back the expensive shirt was in the mid to high 20's now thats a cheap shirt. I know we have take in consideration inflation but when did the 80-100 t-shirt become the norm?

Is it the genius of some marketing guru that sparked this wave of t-shirts that is making these clothing lines rich? What ever it maybe I can see this passing as fast as those $80 trucker hats.

Life on pause

Holy smokes. Has everything been on pause or what... or at least it seems like it. It happened with out me even knowing it. COD MW2 has taken over my life.

For those who know, know... if you do find me. JDMjames is the name on the PS3 network.

Other than that, work, work, work son. As life gets complicated and so do those around you. With more money, there is more desire and more headache. Hopefully I can stay afloat and get by till the times are good again.

Life upgraded?

The stupid slogan from Mark Taylor... I guess in a way it is true, well for me at least. I went from living in a north Phx shit hole to a luxury town house in Tempe. I mean it seems expensive but with the money I was spending on gas I guess it is cheaper since I only play about 100 more here and I'm closer to where I usually always go to.

I guess in a way life is good, new job with great bosses and coworkers, new crib and soon a new phone since my bb is hurt. I have almost everything I want for now to keep me content but I still feel like something is missing. Is it that NSX I been eyed for so long? Or is it that BMW that left me a couple years ago that wants to return to my life? I don't know... there is that saying that money can't buy you happiness... but I make more money that before and I have a lot more things that I worked for and I have never been happier, so to say... Fuck that saying... I'm happy and money brought it to me.

If anyone wants to make me happier I will take happiness in the form of Gucci and Louis Vuitton... thanks.

Frozen Yogurt BOGO

I'm not a real big fan of Mojo FroYo but I do like a deal when I see one. It is good but I like the plain flavor to be more tart than theirs, but the other flavors are good. I reviewed Mojo on Yelp! awhile back and someone from their company sent me a coupon. So i'm gonna share it with everyone.

Yakuza Moon: Memoirs of a Gangster's Daughter

So I'm not much of a reader but this book looks real promising in keeping my attention. Plus it is only 180 pages so it's not so long that I will get bored of it. It also doesn't hurt that the author is a really hot tatted Japanese girl.

Description:
Yakuza Moon is the shocking, yet intensely moving memoir of 37-year-old Shoko Tendo, who grew up the daughter of a yakuza boss. Tendo lived her life in luxury until the age of six, when her father was sent to prison and her family fell into terrible debt. Bullied by classmates and terrorized at home by a father who became a drunken, violent monster after his release from prison, Tendo rebelled. A regular visitor to nightclubs at the age of 12, she soon became a drug addict and a member of a girl gang. At 15 she was sentenced to eight months in a juvenile detention center.
Adulthood brought big bucks and glamour when Tendo started working as a bar hostess during Japan's booming bubble economy of the nineteen-eighties. But among her many rich and loyal patrons there were also abusive clients, one of whom beat her so badly that her face was left permanently scarred. When her mother died, Tendo plunged into such a deep depression that she tried to commit suicide twice.
Tendo takes us through the bad times with warmth and candor, and gives a moving and inspiring account of how she overcame a lifetime of discrimination and hardship. Getting tattooed, from the base of her neck to the tips of her toes, with a design centered on a geisha with a dagger in her mouth, was an act that empowered her to start making changes in her life. She quit her job as a hostess. On her last day at the bar she looked up at the full moon, a sight she never forgot. The moon became a symbol of her struggle to become whole, and the title of the book she wrote as an epitaph for herself and her family.

GAGA!!!!

Wow, tight video!!! Gaga is full of some great songs can't wait to hear the rest of her album I'm sure it will produce more than one hit like her last.

"Cristal"

Saw some Cristal at costco. So I guess the Jay-Z boycott hit them that bad with the pressures of this economy of everyone cutting back on luxury items that they have to sell to costco. Bringing Cristal to the masses now.

Priced at $199 at costco is not bad. At least there the price wont change due to market values.

Did you all know that the gold wrapper is anti-UV cellophane wrapper.

From Wikipedia:

Cristal was first created in 1876 for Alexander II of Russia, and is viewed by many as the first prestige cuvée[1]. As the political situation in Russia at the time of his rule was unstable, the tsar feared assassination. He ordered that the bottles, containing the drink, were made clear to avoid having a bomb hidden in a typical green bottle.[citation needed] Louis Roederer commissioned a Flemish glassmaker to create a Champagne bottle with a flat bottom. Bottles made from common glass have a bell shaped bottom which makes them strong enough to cope with Champagne's pressure. To create a flat bottomed bottle they had to be made from stronger, clear lead crystal. The Champagne has since become known as "Cristal".

Fresh and Easy

What ever happened to the great deals with even better coupons. The 3 dollars off 10 or 5 off 20? Then it went from 10 off 30 to now a huge jump to 10 off 50. I mean it's better than nothing but wow what's next 10 off 75? I think that a lot of customers who were attracted by those coupons are now going to the regular grocery stores again now.

Urban Outfitters

Cruised over to Urban Outfitters to checkout some shirts and found that the graphic printed shirts are on sale for $5!!!!

Took full advantage with this deal and got a few shirts. Went to the one on Mill Ave first then ended up in Old town for some other shit so went over to that one too. Found some dope shirts!

Repost Skills

One thing I haven't done yet is a full tuna, looks like this guys has year and years of practice. So many sushi chefs here in the states don't get the chance to even see a full tuna.

So, as I was on my mini vacation and I was trying to figure out my mobile set up for blogging from my BB I accidentally deleted this post. So here it is again.

short but fun trip

I'm in Cali right now and I realize Californians do it differently. Why is it that I see so many more baller rides out here. All aspects of life costs more in LA compared to PHX yet still everyone seems to be on top of the game. What's Phoenix doing wrong? What am I doing wrong?

There is so much hustle here on a daily. AZ we need to step our game up. Although this was a last minute unplanned trip but a great relief to the daily bust of what I was doing in AZ. A little bit inspirational on the desire to work for something. Ever since graduation I haven't been anything but a zombie but I think I know now.

Now let's see if this inspires my designs and gets me out of this designers block.

Dang this sucks. Sent this post as a text but it split it up in 5 posts in the wrong order. Then tried to delete all to repost then accidently deleted my post from monday.

Trendy water but good design?

With the new trend of designer water we all seen them come and go. Glass bottles, bling, and celebrity factors to sell water. Now the emergence of the the design of the bottle for functionality and not the cool factor.

This bring us to SEI Water.

" SEI Water goes everywhere. The bottle shape, inspired by the military canteen, is designed around the principle of portability and utilization of space while maintaining a subtle harmony of form and function. The bottle is useful and fashionable; and the taste of SEI natural spring water is pure and crisp."
From the SEI website.

I like the bottle and it seems very functional, but I think if it were made of glass or something that we can reuse that is recyclable then it would have been better.

Either way I guess its cheaper to buy them by the case so with 24 of them you can reuse the bottles till they get messed up and grab another. We'll see them first had when I order mine.

The design bug

I got an invite for an event from one of my friends. I took a look at it and I saw the even flyer and I knew something had to be done. I decided to give it my spin on their flyer.

The event is for UK Thursdays at the Cherry lounge & Pit in Tempe. It is a UK Dub style event with Dj's from LA and Vegas.

I hope to check it out and Hopefully I will get some freelance flyer gigs from doing this one "pro-bono." So here is my version of their flyer, I'm not trying to step on any toes with this version but just to showcase what I can do and hopefully get some work out of it.

Inspired by older European, Bauhaus style posters I seen with a little twist. Looks like I did learn something at ASU's Design College.

Now and Then

Man as I get older I come full circle back to some of the old friends of the past. It's weird how much we all have changed. We all have that common ground where we see the fact that we all gotta help each other out to keep up in the times we are in.

Times like this I come to realize that I am blessed with a great network of people. It brings me back to one of many business ideas, of the hook up club... A group or network of people that all have something that can benefit others in the group. Like someone who does work as a printer or designer, as we all know that at one point we needed that. I dunno, like a scratch my back I scratch your back group but someway to where we all make money in the long run. It's hard to explain as I have not put too much thought into it but who knows.

Aside from all that, what i'm putting down here is my design concepts for the Moshmello project.
Mello, Mello Me, Mello U.... Mosh Me, Mosh U, Moshy, Moshmello...

Got to get the idea to paper... back to the drawing board.

The start

Well, I been wanting to create a blog for some time now. A place to collect all my random thoughts and ideas. Like some of my other journals and online rants I often get into it in the beginning and then lose interest. Hopefully this not going to be like that. I wanted to start off with doing different blogs for each of my interests, but I think that would have made it difficult as I am interested in many things and it would cause me to lose interest in blogging quickly as it would take up too much time.

So here it goes. Food, Life, Design, Fitness and what not. All here on my blog to free up space in my mind for all the new things that I need the space for. I guess we can call this my online storage for my brain. I don't expect anyone to actually follow me or even read this but who knows, what I might have to say might be entertaining to someone out there.

As life progresses I find my self more lost and with so many things going through my mind I often find it difficult to recall what I was thinking . With this my new spot for my thoughts someday will come a great idea that will let me live worry free.
